I’m Joy

In addition to features in most major design magazines, and in the definitive book - Iconic Homes of Black Interior Designers (2023), Joy has been included in a number of top design lists, including her most recent honor as one of Luxe Magazine’s Next In Design.

Joy believes design should be impactful and prides her firm as one that creates artful interiors on a cinematic scale.

With nationwide recognition and projects across the United States, Joy has worked on significant and historic residential projects  including a home formerly owned by Duke Ellington.

Joyful Designs Studio is a client oriented, hands-on interiors firm. We focus on renovations, whole home and new construction projects overseeing every facet of home renovations to turn key completion, from architecture to custom drapery and furniture. The firm's projects finish on time and within the budget. 

Rooted in artful expression, Joy creates timeless, memorable homes that uniquely reflect the lives of each client. With a passion for beautiful textiles and a discerning eye for exquisite objects, each of Joy’s projects reflect a love of art, color and individualism.
